Meet our New Music Director

We welcome to Belmont UMC, our new music director, John-Phillip Fultz and his wife Becky, and children Solomon (3) and Liberty (6 weeks).

John-Phillip comes to us with much experience in leading music for congregations.  He began leading music at Valley Worship Center where his dad was the pastor.  That’s where his faith journey began. He has also led music at Higher Ground UMC and Epiphany Lutheran Church here in Dayton.  In addition to leading music groups, he plays the piano, guitar, violin and composes music.  He graduated with a degree in music composition from the University of Dayton.

Becky grew up in a Christian home where her father was also a pastor.  She teaches grade four at Fairborn Intermediate School, plays the flute, loves to sing and enjoys working with children. Together, John-Phillip and Becky make a great team.  Through prayer they sensed a strong call to help Belmont UMC in mission to the community and beyond.

John-Phillip especially feels called to develop skilled musicians and singers with a heart for God.  Above all, he believes in sharing the gospel with all people as Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9  “I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.  I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.”

We look forward to giving a great welcome to John-Phillip, Becky and family on Sunday, October 22.
